A paramedic is the highest trained level of prehospital care. Paramedics have the training to adminster ECGs, start IVs and adminster medications, as well as utilizing advanced airway devices. The paramedic has a high level of training in patient assesment and determining treatment modalities.

The Paramedicine Training Program consists of 10 months (approximately 1400 hours) of didactic and clinical instruction. We provide a comprehensive overview of emergency treatment for all types of medical and traumatic emergencies. Students will be engaged in field and prehospital treatment, rehabilitation and discharge of patients with a focus on how they can impact patient care in their day to day practice as a paramedic.
The Fall 2012 Paramedic Program will begin on September 4, 2012. The didactic portion of the program will run through June 29, 2013. Upon successful completion of our Paramedic Program and subsequent licensing as a Paramedic, students are eligible for 30 college credits through Charter Oak State College.
This refresher is intended for currently licensed EMT-Cardiacs and Paramedics. It meets all requirements for the States of Rhode Island and Connecticut.
